Roundtable Recap: Jerry Brown

Former California Governor and current Attorney General Jerry Brown addresses the first-ever Bryan Cave Clean Tech Roundtable in Santa Monica.

The June 30 event, with an audience of nearly 450 people consisting of business professionals, clean tech investors and government and academic officials, was part of Bryan Cave's "California Green Plan" developed by the California contingents of our Environmental and Public Policy & Government Affairs Client Service Groups to coordinate our efforts to serve client needs in the renewable energy and other clean tech sectors.

The event featured top California leaders, including: Jerry Brown, California attorney general; John Chiang, California state controller; Bill Lockyer, California state treasurer; Bobby Shriver, Santa Monica councilman; Steve Westly, former California state controller and current clean tech venture capitalist; and many more. These leaders outlined their vision on how to promote new state and federal clean technology initiatives.

Strategic partners for the event included: Barbaro Strategies, a government affairs consultancy; Englander & Associates, which provides strategic advocacy, government affairs, crisis management, litigation support and PR services to corporate, government and nonprofit clients; Environ, which provides global health, safety and environmental services; SK Impact, a political consulting firm dedicated to building blue-green coalitions that win; VerdeXchange, which shares news of the evolving marketplace for green innovations; and The Westly Group, a clean technology-oriented venture capital firm.

Stay tuned in the weeks ahead as this site hosts additional video of the event. This first Clean Tech Roundtable was held at the Broad Stage Theatre at Santa Monica College – a new performing arts center on the west side of Los Angeles.
